Nextrax Arena X Series Final

JAN 9/10 NEXTRAX ARENA X SERIES FINAL - Ryan Lockhart #9 TAKES THE OVERALL WIN FOR THE SERIES AND BECOMES THE 2009 ARENA CROSS CHAMPION

With the break between Christmas and the final round of the NexTrax Arena Cross over, it was down to business or the RTR TLD KTM team again. Team members: Ryan Lockhart, Ryan Millar, Kirk Haws, Josh Allen, Kody Munro and Jamie Munro all ready for business in these 5th and 6th final rounds.

Everyone headed down to the arena on Thursday morning for practice, with words of closed roads, heavy flooding and mudslides it was evident the holiday season gave the riders a renewed vigor to hit the track and get on two wheels again. Even with very cold damp conditions the riders all looking smooth and in control, they were anxious for Friday and Saturday nights main events.

The Intermediate classes were very competitive with Josh Allen and Kirk Haws having some great battles on their KTM 250sxf . Kirk, with a sweep, taking the overall win for the series in the Intermediate MX1 and Intermediate MX2, and Josh Allen had a little bad luck, leading the points in this class. Josh put in some great rides finishing up the other intermediate classes just behind his teammate.

The Ladies class has become very competitive and with Jamie locking down the second place overall for the series with her KTM 144sx 2 stroke that performed as flawless as we have come to expect from the little 2 stroke.  The 85cc and super mini classes were full of rising talent as usual. Kody Munro managed a hard earned 4th overall in the 85 class and 6th in super mini.

The Pro MX1 and MX2 classes were very tough with the RTR team having to deal with Kawasaki Factory team and it flying riders coming out of the U.S. with a Factory semi to pit out of. We overcame this and with Ryan Lockhart at the head of the pack to the first corner at nearly every start thanks to his KTM backed 250sxf/Valley Speed Engine. The Factory Connection suspension kept him at the front and at the end of the series yan walked away with the #1 plate in the MX2 and 2nd overall in the MX1. These were the results needed to put Ryan 1st overall for the whole series. Congratulations to Ryan, “The Champ”.

Ryan Millar finishing 5th and Kirk Haws racing in Pro‐Am MX2 finished 6th behind his teammate.  With some great podium speeches and good representation of RTR and all of our sponsors we had our most successful AX season yet. We are planning for the summer and things are looking bright for the Canadian Nationals.

The RTR/TLD/KTM team would like to thanks our sponsors:  KTM Canada, Zimmer Wheaton GMC, Troy Lee Designs, PrintWerx graphics, Pack Rat fabricating, Valley Speed Engines,661 (bars, sprockets and chains), Ogio, Dragon goggles, Factory Connection suspension, and VP Race fuels Special thanks to Charlene and Rob Munro from Valley Speed race engines, for all the help over and above the team sponsorship!
