Coming into the 2010/2011 Canadian Arenacross Series, Team RTR Performance Troy Lee Design KTM Canada had high hopes to be on the podium every round of the Canadian Arenacross Series. RTR Performance the Kamloops, BC dealership along with their sponsors Troy Lee Designs and KTM Canada poured a ton of energy and support behind Michael Willard, Kevin Urquhart and up and coming local kid Kohl Canaday in their bid for a championship.

Troy Lee Designs, and a list of fantastic sponsors fully supported the KTM Canada RTR Performance backed trio and they didn’t disappoint leading the charge in almost every main event and landing on the top spot on the podium in multiple. Hard work, great performance out of the RTR Performance tuned KTM 250 SX-F’s led to an eventual Championship as Troy Lee Design sponsored Michael Willard rode consistently and got stronger with each race moving into first place by round 6.

Michael Willard can now add an Arenacross Championship to his list of achievements. Willard who was making his debut competing for the first time in the series rode the all new 2011 KTM 250 SX-F sporting the #749 that won him his first National Canadian MX outdoor title back in 2005. Washington State’s Kevin Urquhart who swept the podium in round 4 was edged off the top podium step by a mere 3 points giving him an impressive 2nd Overall behind his RTR Performance Troy Lee Designs KTM Canada team mate.  Kohl Canaday who was competing in the AX Pro class for the first time suffered some early series injuries, which affected his final results. The Kamloops native bounced back making great improvements in the later rounds of the series and making sure his RTR Performance Troy Lee Designs KTM 250 SX-F was in each of the main events and showing everyone his true potential.

Unfortunately for everyone involved the popular winter series was shortened prematurely when it was announced that the last four rounds were cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. This not only is a disappointment to all the team riders and sponsors involved, but also the fans who came out to watch the incredible racing on the tracks each and every weekend.
